The Aare gorge (Aareschlucht) is a wonderful place in Meiringen (Switzerland) for recreation and a guided dive into stunning nature. For CHF 8.50 you can walk along a beautiful trail, breathe fresh air and see what kind of magical things happened during the past.

The Haslital (valley of Hasli) is one of the large valleys in the central alps and stretches from Grimsel Pass to the Lake of Brienz. In this valley there is evidence from the ice age: a powerful rock barrier called “Kirchet”.
Over thousands of years, the Aare River eroded a path through this rock formation resulting in a gorge – 1’400 metres long and up to 200 metres deep. As the rocks on the side are quite high and the closest points are maximum 1 meter apart, it is quite dark and therefore makes it mystical.
Since this gorge is accesible for more than 100 years, it is really safe to walk along the paths and tunnels for a special treatment in nature.
