In spring I decided to go to Malta for summer holidays. That was before it went that hot here in Switzerland as well. But down in the South, it was even hotter. With temperatures of around 35°C during the day and almost 28°C in the night, combined with an insane humidity of 80-90%, I mostly was glad that I was there for beach holidays and relaxing. 🙂

But why the heck Malta? A small island in the Mediterranean sea with just a little bit more than 400 thousand inhabitants? Malta’s location has historically given it great strategic importance as a naval base, and a succession of powers, including the Phoenicians, Romans, Moors, Normans, Sicilians, Spanish, Knights of St. John, French and British, have ruled the islands.
That’s why I decided to give Malta a try – the cultural point of view made the difference.
